About Us

We are Rick Carroll and Alison Mears. We live in a lovely seaside village on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales. Collectively, we have 5 children who are all adults. Our interests include - and rely upon - our health and wellbeing. Other interests include personal development, people, travel, music, reading, keeping fit and enjoying the ocean, and of course, share trading and real estate investing. We want to be able to enjoy these things where we want, when we want, for as long as we want.

My background is Nursing and Rick has been in the OH&S field for some time. We had been reading investment books for a while before we came across Jamie's "What I didn't learn at school but wish I had". This book made quite an impact on us, and after careful consideration we decided to purchase the home study pack. We did this in late 2004. We diligently watched all the DVD's in the pack, took lots of notes and made some changes and improvements to our financial position as advised. But the real impact on our wealth creation didn't happen until we had attended our first 21st Century Academy 4 day seminar. We can't stress enough how huge the difference is between watching DVD's in your lounge room, to sitting amongst hundreds of other like minded people, being addressed by experts in their field, about numerous wealth creation topics. If you are serious about improving your financial future, we would strongly recommend attending a 4 day seminar at least once. Many people go back again and again.

Included in the home study pack is a ticket to one of these 4 day seminars, and of course you get to chose which one you go to. They are happening all over the country throughout the year.

It took us 2 years between purchasing and watching the home study, to actually getting to our first seminar. what a waste!!!

Anyway, after finally attending and realising what hundreds of other people had already figured out, we are now very pleased with ourselves and our progress. We have been back to help out as volunteers twice, and plan to go again many times. 21st Century Academy staff and associates are such a fantastic network of people to work with, and helping out new seminar participants is very rewarding.
