Our My Money Matters website has been created for people who are interested in learning how to step up and take control of their financial future, simply by applying a few strategies that wealthy people have utilized for centuries. In 2004 we became interested in retiring from our jobs well before we turned 65, which at the time meant another 25 years in the workforce. So we started looking about, reading books and opening our eyes and ears for a worthwhile investment opportunity. We are most pleased with our progress so far.
Here's the concise version of what actually worked for us .........................................
Step 1: We read Jamie McIntyre's book "What I didn't learn at school but wish I had". This is available for you today as a free ebook.
Step 2: We purchased the 21st Century Academy Home study and became diligent students of the information and strategies presented to us.
Step 3: We went to a 21st Century Academy 4 Day Seminar (we have now been to several ).
Step 4: And this is the most important of all. We took action, and put this new found information into practice.

21st Century Academy
I (Rick) came across a book by a young Australian guy called Jamie McIntyre, titled "What I didn't learn at school but wish I had". I just could not get passed the truth of the title. I didn't know what it was that I needed to know, but the one thing I was sure of, was that what I had learned at school wasn't getting me the life I wanted. I had read investment books before this one, but none of them had bitten the bullet enough to tell me what the problem was. Jamie McIntyre's book is full of different money making strategies, but the real thrust is in identifying the obstructions in our lives that hold us back from being the best we can be. In my case the obstruction was the way I thought. In effect, I was the obstruction. This book opened our eyes to a world of opportunities. We just had to decide which ones suited us, and then apply ourselves. Grab a FREE DVD here, and you can get a taste of what we are on about. After reading Jamie's book and watching the free 3.5hr DVD we started to make some changes in our lives that have lead us to where we are now. And we are very happy with our progress and our position.
The most influential decision we have made by far was to purchase Jamie McIntyre's 21st Century Academy home study program, and then we attended a 4 day seminar. Jamie hosts a packed 4 days, where you investigate your beliefs and values, you are encouraged to set realistic goals for yourself, and then you are exposed to an absolute smorgasbord of speakers for days. Topics include several different real estate strategies, internet marketing opportunities, business mastery and numerous share trading strategies. There are no obligations, you just listen to the various speakers strategy, and if you wish to you may become involved in that particular opportunity.
At the first seminar we went to we met lots of battlers just like us. People who are wanting to learn more and dramatically improve their future by working toward financial independence. We are very happy with Jamie McIntyre's 21st Century Academy, the ongoing support through this organisation has been outstanding.
Since commencing on this new path toward financial independence, we have become involved in a number of strategies introduced to us through both the 21st Century Academy home study pack and by attending the seminars. Like many people we started with the bull put spread share trading strategy by Andrew Dimitri, otherwise known as Planet Wealth and then moved on to more share trading education by Nik Halik (MSMI).
After attending our first 21st Century Academy 4 Day Seminar in September 2006, we decided to volunteer as Support Crew to assist other Seminar participants. Here we are volunteering at the seminar in the Blue Mountains March 2007. It was such a blast we volunteered to help out again at the Gold Coast seminar in September 2007, which turned out to be a 'sold out' event. Its always good to get back in the atmosphere with other like minded people who are going the extra mile, and enjoying the rewards of the extra effort.
All of the strategies that we are involved in require a serious level of commitment, some solid learning and then most importantly, application. But they are very achievable, even for average people like Rick and I. We are both learning an incredible amount about our own ability to manage our financial future. The personal development required to step up to the plate and take charge, has been an unexpected reward. Feeling in charge of your financial future and therefore freeing up your time from the restrictions of a traditional job, is a feeling hard to describe. Being free to travel, visit family and offer assistance to the kids is fantastic.
Being in a position to contribute time and money to organizations and charities is very rewarding. These successful Australians involved in providing the 21st Century Academy education advocate 'giving back' at least 10% of the money you are making.
